There is a certain dress code to be followed when playing golf. Golf Clubs can also enforce more strict rules for entering their clubhouse and golf course. What should typically not be worn on a golf course are cutoffs, short shorts, gym shorts, and jeans.
Appropriate Golfing Attire
A short-sleeved shirt with a collar, called a golf shirt, is perfect. Golf shirts are tailored a little longer to stay tucked in even after a long day of repeatedly swinging a golf club at a little ball. Avoid busy patterns and loud colors.
Pants made of cotton, or linen materials will be good. Bermuda-length shorts are appropriate and worn everywhere today. Women can wear a skirt, capri pants, a skort, shorts made to look like a skirt, and culottes.
Golf shoes are fine. Most clubs require shoes with soft spikes and prefer those before metal spikes. If you do not have golf shoes, any good pair of sneakers will suffice.
Golf Equipment
Several golf clubs are used during a golf game. There are three different types of clubs, namely, woods, irons, and putters. For the long shots, woods are used. Usually from the tee or freeway, occasionally it can be used when playing from the rough.
Irons are made for precision shots, also from the fairways or the rough. Putters are played on the greens to place the ball as near as possible, or in the hole. A basic set of clubs will be made up of 3 and 5 woods, irons from numbers 3 to 9, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, and a putter.
Golf balls and ball-markers, as well as tees, are also needed. The markers are placed when playing on the green to mark the place where a ball is lifted. Tees are used to rest a ball on and are only allowed for the first strike.
